For the moment after the card
When a question opens something up
You draw a card and sit with it, and something moves. It might be a memory you haven't touched in years, or a tightness in your chest that won't settle. Then it's late, the house is quiet, and you're on your own with it, not sure what to do next.
Fireside Notes is for that moment. Each of the 30 cards has its own page, drawn from the Sacred Souljourners Podcast conversation where that question was born. Every entry starts with guidance from the episode. Under it you'll find two deeper questions to take you further in and a Campfire Question to carry through your day.
Your becoming deserves a witness. Let these pages sit beside you.
When a card opens more than you expected, you have a next step waiting.
On nights when you only have ten minutes, one page gives you the heart of an hour-long episode.
When your first answer comes too easily, the deeper questions walk you past it to the one underneath.
When you remember a phrase but not the card, search the PDF or find the card alphabetically.
Look inside
A page from Fireside Notes
What am I ready to put in the fire?
This question invites you to notice what you are ready to release today. You may have drawn it at the beginning of your practice or returned to it after weeks of reflection. Start wherever you are.
The fire asks nothing of you. You don't need a grand gesture or a perfectly worded intention. It simply offers what fire has always offered, which is transformation. Whatever you bring to it changes form. Grief becomes compost and shame becomes fuel, and the story about yourself that was never quite true gets held in the flame long enough to show what was underneath it all along.
Asking what you're ready to put in the fire is different from asking what you should release. Readiness can feel different from pressure. Notice what feels ready, and give yourself room if you do not know yet.
Go a little deeper
What have you been almost ready to release for a long time that you might finally be ready to surrender right now?
What would the version of you who has already put this in the fire look like, feel like, move like?
